Data Science Lead for Asia Pacific among 100 women selected from 600 nominations

Data Science Lead Chloe Li has claimed her spot on the Singapore Computer Society’s 100 Women in Tech list. The list recognizes visionary and innovative role models who have contributed to Singapore’s tech landscape and inspired others with their passion, achievements and expertise. Chloe’s inclusion underscores both the diversity and caliber of talent at Johnson Controls Asia Pacific.

Since joining the company, Chloe has been instrumental in setting up data science and Artificial Intelligence (AI) practices to solve business problems. She engages business leaders from different functions and helps them leverage data and analytics to drive efficiency, cost savings and revenue generation.

In 2020, she led the development and deployment of Dynamic Deal Scoring – a real-time pricing recommendation tool that helps the Sales team optimize project margins. More than 80% of frontline salespeople in China, India, Japan, Malaysia and Singapore now use it to determine the optimal pricing for their quotations. The tool has delivered significant earnings growth to the APAC Service business.

And in a first for APAC, Chloe also initiated an internship program focusing on advanced analytics to attract graduate students from local universities. Since 2019, she has recruited and mentored two batches of interns from various backgrounds, including economics, urban planning and computer science. Under her guidance, this diverse pool of talent has contributed directly to different lines of businesses through projects such as cost overrun analysis and a cloud analytics platform for our OpenBlue Innovation Center located at the National University of Singapore.

In addition, Chloe contributes to several organizations that promote greater female representation in tech, including our Johnson Controls Women’s Global Network and the Girls In Tech Singapore chapter.

The Singapore 100 Women in Tech is organized by the Singapore Computer Society in partnership with SG Women in Tech and the Infocomm Media Development Authority. The list is part of national efforts to inspire women and girls to pursue careers in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM). A panel of influential leaders from the business, technology and academic communities selected the final 100 names from a pool of 600 nominations.
