Transformation Programme: A 3-Part Journey

4 Day FM Digital Literacy Workshop

Day 1 : Digital Trend

Digital Transformation is the process of fostering a digital-first mindset across the organization. Aims to enhance efficiency improve customer experience, enable data-driven decision-making, and drive innovation.

Day 2: Smart Building and Facilities Management

Chiller performance optimization methods with IOT connectivity and expert guidance in advanced Technologies and data analytics to improve operation efficiency to enhance workplace experience towards user journey.

Day 3: Smart Building Energy and Asset Management

Analyses energy usage patterns, identifies areas of inefficiency, and helps to optimize energy consumption that improves operational efficiency and streamlines facility management in Predictive Maintenance and Asset Management.

Day 4: Connected Chiller and Remote advisory Service

Apply analytics on Large or Small Central Utility Plant and delivers powerful digital tools to cut energy usage and greenhouse gas emissions, reduce costs and improve reliability.

The proof of concept that Johnson Controls Singapore offers varies depending on the needs and goals of the companies.

Johnson Controls identifies the needs and goals of the companies from the discovery clinic. Accordingly relevant proof of concept applies through a six-month digital transformation journey.

Funding Support

1. Why is SkillsFuture working with Johnson Controls?

SkillsFuture (“SSG”) has identified Johnson Controls as a market leader in the Built Environment and has partnered with Johnson Controls on the SGUnited Mid-Career Pathways Programme to provide training and equip learners with fundamental digital knowledge and skills of not only smart buildings but sustainability programs for a career in the Built Environment.

Now SSG is partnering with Johnson Controls on the Queen Bee programme to leverage Johnson Controls’ technologies and capabilities to help companies particularly Small and Medium Enterprises (“SMEs”) and to upskill the Built Environment industry in Singapore.


2. What is SkillsFuture Queen Bee?  

The Queen Bee Partnership Programme by SSG brings together leaders from different industries to share skills and expertise and to guide SMEs in their journey of growth and transformation.

Johnson Controls has been identified as the market leader in the non-construction Built Environment.  As the Queen Bee for the Built Sector (non-construction), Johnson Controls is committed to help enterprises develop digital capabilities and necessary skills to start their sustainability plans and transform their businesses.


3. How is Johnson Controls helping the industry as the Queen Bee?

Johnson Controls will be:

  1. upskilling the employees through training; and
  2. upskilling the company through starter kits

4. What is Digital Literacy Workshop and what can you learn from the workshop?

It is a 32-hour workshop designed for learners who are looking to understand the fundamentals of digital transformation and implement strategies for their companies. Covering topics on:

  • Digitalization
  • Decarbonization
  • Digital transformation
  • Case studies

5. What are Starter Kits?

Johnson Controls has developed 6 Starter Kits to help guide SMEs and local companies through a six-month digital transformation journey. These starter kits are designed to help SMEs and local companies implement relevant strategies and practices in an easy and cost-effective way. By adopting these starter kits, SMEs and local companies are able to tap on Johnson Controls’ mentorship support to accelerate adoption of new technology to boost their company’s growth and business transformation for a sustainable future.  In addition to the mentorship support, the Starter Kits also include a 24-hour training course called Accelerate Sustainability with Digitalization.


6. What type of companies can be subsidised?

Both 1SMEs and non-SMEs can be funded but funding limits will be different.

1SMEs is defined as enterprise with:

  • Minimum 30% local shareholding; and
  • Company’s Group annual sales turnover of not more than $100million; or
  • Company’s Group employment size of not more than 200 employees.

7. What are the eligibility criteria to receive SSG Grants for Companies?

Companies should not be receiving or have received other grants/funds for similar project scope.


8. What are the eligibility criteria to receive SSG Grants for training of Company’s employees?

Employees who attend the training must be one of the following in order to be subsidized:

  1. Singapore Citizen; or
  2. Singapore Permanent Resident; or
  3. LTVP+ holder

11. How to register for the Digital Literacy Workshop/Starter Kits package?

Interested Companies can fill up the registration form and we will reach out to you.


12. Can employee withdraw from the training?

Any withdrawal must be made in writing at least 2 weeks before course commencement. Otherwise, full course fee applies.


13. Is Company allowed to replace employees for the training?

Any replacement must be made in writing at least 2 weeks before course commencement. Otherwise, full course fee applies.


14. Is there any replacement of training session if employee is unable to attend the training due to valid reasons (eg. medical leave, overseas trip)?

In the situation where the employee is unable to attend the training due to valid reasons, replacement of training session is allowed but will be based on the availability of next confirmed training session.


15. What happen if the training session is cancelled?

If Johnson Controls is to cancel any training sessions due to unforeseen circumstances, makeup sessions will be arranged for the affected employees.


16. Is there a cap as to how many employees a Company can send?

For Digital Literacy Workshop, you can send or support as many employees as you wish. The training fees for the workshop is per employee.

For Accelerate Sustainability with Digitalization Training, you can send a minimum of 3 and a maximum of 10 employees. The training fees is already included in the Starter Kit per company.
